Review on πŸ”Œ Metra 70-2021 Amplifier Integration Harness for Chevrolet Impala/Monte Carlo 2000-2001 by Ryan Schweigert

Sound restored for our 2001 Monte Carlo

This jumper assembly plugs into the connector that is used to connect to the car amp located in the trunk. The noise started intermittently, much to my wife's dismay. Eventually she told me about it and I started researching the cause. Basically I fixed poor power supply (water corrosion of power wires under passenger mat), broken wire connections until finally I had an amp in the trunk. It turns out this amp was designed to "amplify" an already amplified radio/CD player output, producing a fuller, richer sound. However, it is not necessary for the radio to be played through the car speakers. This is where the jumper comes into play. By connecting it to the end of the trunk wiring harness that was previously connected to the amplifier, you bypass the amplifier allowing the radio to drive the car's speakers directly! Hooray! Our problem was solved and also economically. Once you have eliminated other potential sources of the GMA radio audio problem, try this.
