Best door speaker sound on a 2002 Suburban

I bought this to bypass the amplifier/bypass filter on my used 2002 Suburban. The door speakers were anemic when I bought the car - they sounded like an old AM radio. I installed this part after rewiring the cables to match the correct IAW sequence from this link http://www.savagehomeautomation.com/projects/bypass-factory-ampcrossover-in-2002-chevy-tahoe .html to customize. The sound difference with the original speakers and sound system was amazing. Where I previously had no bass or trebleโ€ฆ

I doubt the wiring even fits the cars it's supposedly made for.

Hmm. I'm not exactly sure how the thing is connected. I have a 2000 Impala and when I installed it the fader flipped on my stereo. I've searched a lot on the internet for a suggestion to connect the cables to a factory amp. What I came up with is the same wiring that everyone seems to use for their old Tahoes; Someone attached the wiring in the photo to the review. So I rewired the thing and lo and behold, the fader is correct now. I was also concerned that using this thing as originallyโ€ฆ

I wasn't expecting at first but I'm glad I tried. Constar still works

After some experimentation with the wire combination I was able to get this to work on my 2001 Suburban. The factory amp decided to die. I really wasn't too optimistic as this product has mixed reviews. I managed to find a decent schematic and figure out the order. What surprised me the most was that the Onstar factory was still running after that. If you don't have an Impala that this harness fits, or if you're not very tech savvy, I wouldn't recommend this route. There are services that willโ€ฆ

Did what I wanted

I bought this because my 2001 Monte Carlo battery kept dying in the driveway after a day or two of downtime. After testing the spent amp on my battery, I found that when I pulled the fuse for the radio, it dropped significantly. It was about 500mA initially, but after the fuse was pulled it dropped to 20mA. I put the fuse back in and did a lot of internet research to find out that in most cases the culprit is the factory amp in the trunk. I unplugged the factory amp and took a reading on theโ€ฆ

Perfect factory bypass crossover/amplifier (whatever it is) for my 2002.

Nearly perfect factory crossover/amplifier bypass (whatever it is) for my 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche! FOR A 2002 CHEVY AVALANCHE YOU MUST RECONNECT THE CABLE or the front/rear speakers will be reversed and the polarity reversed. wire end inside. This releases the latch and allows the wire to be EASILY pulled out. If it doesn't, you haven't released the catch. You need to remove 4 wires from each side and solder them according to the attached picture (ignore the Metra 70-2002 part number, it's the

2001 Chevy Suburban Radio Upgrade

I ordered this Metra Amp Integration Wiring Harness after reading one of the reviews on this product from another Chevy Suburban owner. I wanted to bypass the factory amp after installing an aftermarket radio and replacing all the speakers. The product reviews included instructions on how to change the pinout to make it work with my application. (Thanks for posting!) The wiring harness did exactly what I wanted and my speakers sound way better when powered by my secondary radio amp. NOTE: Thisโ€ฆ

My radio works! ! !

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo with a radio that uses an external amplifier. My radio lost all sound and there was no beep when the door was ajar and the key was in the ignition or when the warning lights were on etc. I checked the radio output, checked the power and ground at the external amplifier and found the amplifier defective was. I did some research and found that it's not really an amp that takes line level input, it's a power amp that takes speaker level input and just boosts the signal aโ€ฆ

Sound restored for our 2001 Monte Carlo

This jumper assembly plugs into the connector that is used to connect to the car amp located in the trunk. The noise started intermittently, much to my wife's dismay. Eventually she told me about it and I started researching the cause. Basically I fixed poor power supply (water corrosion of power wires under passenger mat), broken wire connections until finally I had an amp in the trunk. It turns out this amp was designed to "amplify" an already amplified radio/CD player output, producing aโ€ฆ
