Review on πŸ”Œ RKX MOST Fiber Optic Optical Loop Bypass Female Adapter - Radio & Audio Compatibility with Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche & Volvo by Chris Lujan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not bad at $14, best in electrics

Works as hoped. I had a complete loss of audio as well as an SOS error warning in my 2008 BMW 335xi, e90/N54. I did a little research and found that the problem could be with the MOST bus. If one unit fails (Bluetooth, satellite radio, TCU, amplifier, navigation, CD changer, etc.), they all fail. I wasn't sure if the official BMW lollipop would fit in the MOST clamp, so I read the reviews here and decided to spend $14 to test it out. As expected, the loop I ordered did not fit my MOST male stopper. Don't worry, you can cut the case off and just leave the fiber points. It remains only to disconnect one component at a time, insert this loop and test the car. I decided to try the first component; my satellite radio. I'm lucky, that's all. After the bypass, the rest of my components (bluetooth, amp, TCU, I don't have a sat nav or CD changer) came back to life and I heard all the warning tones come back. Not bad for $14. Here I have attached photos of how I modified and attached the loop. In the picture with the device installed, a defective satellite radio module can be seen in the background. The fan was still running and I just left a non-functioning seat unit there.
