Review on Factory Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G Android Phone with 128GB Storage by Ronnie Dunn

A budget phone at an almost flagship price - a downgrade from the S20.

I rarely write reviews, but Samsung's latest idiot consumer buys everything we put out range definitely deserves a review. Everything about this phone feels cheap. From the sticky plastic back, the rectangular brick design, to the complete lack of any accessories that come with the phone. It feels like the phone should cost $300-400 max. I compare it to S20. It wasn't particularly good, but it was better than this phone. The S20 looks more premium, it's thinner and it looks better. Oh yes, and it also has 12GB of RAM, up from the 8GB this phone has. For the most part, the phones are very similar in performance (the s21 has a faster processor, but you don't really notice that in everyday use). Both phones have relatively short battery life. S20 has better screen than S21. The built-in fingerprint sensor on both phones is poor and unreliable (the S9 was much better in layout and functionality). Wireless charging does not work even in the thinnest cases. Samsung malware is slowing down both phones and annoying. Still no way to get rid of useless and annoying Bixby. If you have the opportunity to buy the S20 for the same price as the S21, the S20 is the best phone overall. Despite its shortcomings, it appears to be more durable and its performance is almost identical. While you get an additional upgrade with the S21, anyone who has had a Samsung phone for the last few years knows that Samsung phones don't last three years anyway (see the well-known moisture bug). Unfortunately Samsung does not work at all. backing their products (their devices are even less reliable than their phones and TVs) is a company that uses its warranties to find excuses to evade contractual obligations. That means advertising the phone as waterproof and then not covering it up claiming it was probably in salt water etc.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Some quibbles

So much promise and anticipation only to be let down, not without advancements at a cost.
