The Manfrotto 003 Light Base with 013 Spigot is strong and durable, has a significant weight and fits into tight spaces. The base socket can be used with accessories that have a 5/8" cradle tip, such as Use the 003 light base with a Manfrotto 244 Magic Arm to place lights in places where tripods dare not with 300 LEDs or small CFL head with softbox L-shape for storage Also easy to carry and fits in carry-on or backpack Impeccable fit and finish It's amazing that Manfrotto continues to make photo accessories in Italy while maintaining high quality and time my prices. Cowboy Studio has a half price, half quality Chinese clone of 003 (I have one). However, I don't mind paying a little more for better quality and a stronger base. Just a small caveat: the rubber feet fall off too easily. Yes, a little glue will fix it, but it's a pimple on an otherwise perfect product. Overall a great base/stand but most of all it's an extremely useful tool in my studio.
