A quick and easy way to add lighting behind furniture or directly behind an object to illuminate the background. I also sometimes use it to add a bottom fill light in front of the model. Works great, easy to fold and take with you.

Works great with light stand and ring light just make sure you have sandbags to weigh your feet down. Since it's small and light enough to be super portable, which is great, without the extra weight it tips over pretty easily.

Very solid workmanship. actually that's a minus of it. It's too heavy for what it was designed for. I'm a professional who works outdoors a lot, so weight is a big factor. I appreciate the workmanship (will last for years) but it's too heavy to carry around.

I have used one of these in and out of the studio for many years and it is one of the best value floor stands. I use it as a backlight. in the studio, a webcam stand for online classes and my DSLR or flashes in hand. It's fairly light for its strength and folds up nice and compact. If you need it for everything I've listed above, stop thinking about it and get it!
