I recently ordered a special leather cleaning brush and tried it on my 2007 leather steering wheel. It's like a new wheel and most of the shine is gone as well, no paint transfer or wear, just removing dirt and oil from the grain made a big difference. Also had the seats in my 2011 Subaru (light ivory perforated leather) and 2007 (black leather) and using a brush definitely does the job a lot better than a microfiber cloth, they both look brand new and feel a lot better than I had brushes before Discovered for me many years ago as they make cleaning so much more efficient. 2 car interiors and a sofa later and it's holding up great, the difference in leather texture is just unreal
