I just got this journal for watercolor and did my first painting in it today. My only complaint is that the paints didn't blend as well as they do on regular watercolor paper. But inspite of that I absolutely love this journal and I'm going to gift one to a friend that also does watercolors. I'm going to apply absorbent ground to the next page priot to painting and see what that does. I let my son use the last page to try it for writing. He wants one now (but not with the heart cover lol) One final note. I used a lot of water on one part of my flower and it bled through but I already had something behind the page so all was good.
