Review on πŸ”Š [Upgraded Version] Bluetooth 5.0 Amplifier Stereo Audio Receiver, Mini Hi-Fi Class D Integrated Amp for Home Passive Speakers (BT10A-S) by Megan Ramirez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great little amp but latency issue BT

I wanted it to drive a pair of ceiling speakers that would connect via bluetooth to my google mini home device in my kitchen. I have a 7-zone whole house audio system that works with Google Home products (speakers, Google Chromecast audio systems, built-in Chromecast receivers, etc.). The amplifier worked well and the BT connection was reliable, but the problem was that the BT connection was causing a delay. Google Home has a setting to adjust the BT delay, but the delay I got from the amp changed every time I changed tracks or started a new playlist. I get my living room stereo to play Chromecast audio in perfect sync with that Fosi amp and Google Mini in the kitchen using the metronome track on Spotify and then once I stop and restart the track or play the original, the two systems are not synchronous and cause disturbing echoes. Sometimes they fell so far behind that the lyrics were a full word ahead. This wouldn't be a problem if you were only playing in that one zone, but if it's multiple zones it's completely useless if one of them is playing out of sync. I ended up just adding another Chromecast audio to this amp instead of trying to control it from the Google Mini as they have a line out and it has been 100% in sync since then. I don't blame the amp which is why I gave it a 5 star rating anyway as reading more this seems to be a common problem with any BT speaker connection and trying to sync it to other speakers. I set the volume on the amp to about 50% and it drives the ceiling speakers well, and at 1/2 volume on the amp when I adjust the volume of the entire system at home it seems to stay mostly in sync in other areas. . Too bad Google has ended Chromecast Audio and nobody else has a similar product with a 3.5mm speaker output.
