I'll be honest with you: I bought what I thought was a cheap pencil sharpener. I did this on purpose because my boy loves to sharpen pencils and even the most expensive sharpeners have a long history of wear and tear. After a quick cost-benefit analysis, the hubs and I decided that $10 (the cost of this sharpener) a month was worth it. I figured that at such a low price the blade would sharpen dull or unevenly. I was wrong. This might be the best sharpener we've ever bought! We've had this sharpener for a long time and I think I grossly underestimated its reliability. It's not delicately built. The chip cup fits perfectly and does not fall off, but can be easily removed for emptying. The description says "battery operated" and it is, but it also comes with a USB charging cable. Check! I keep it "connected" to my computer, but also put batteries in it so my boy can sharpen his pencils in his room whenever he likes. I think you will understand. The rest of you? Take my word for it: this little sharpener is exactly what you need.
