It can't be worse! A waste of money.

This sound card is some kind of cruel joke from asus, since the sound is the most disgusting, and the price tag is not small. This black piece of plastic does not sound, but rather makes sounds of flatulence. and from realtek, then I rolled up a fresh driver for wines 10 x64, but nothing has changed. All sounds are not natural, it cuts the ear, everything merges into one vile sound lump, sound bacchanalia. I tried to play on the gaming preset in left4dead 2 and it's such a horror, I didn’t understand at all what was happening around. If I played left with a creative se card with firewood from Daniel K., then I knew perfectly well where and at what distance this or that sound was, that some accused me of cheating, since I accurately determined where the respawn takes place. On the asus u5, the sound and action can be far behind you, but it will seem to you that it is right next to you behind your back. Even if you turn off all the effects, the sound in the game is one "porridge", where are you will You can more or less clearly hear what is happening in the visibility zone. If you want to understand what kind of sound this card has, listen to the hardware sound of the built-in Realtek, it is very similar. I tried to install drivers on Windows Ultimate x64, but the picture is the same as on Windows 10 pro x64. Surely the problem is in the drivers. In the fall of 2022, the card stopped showing signs of life, during the year of use it was in a netbook, two computers and a laptop, at first it turned on every other time, then less and less until it died. Judging by the techno forums, this sound model, along with the U7, often dies, difficult to diagnose and repair.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging, stylish black heavy box.
Cons
  • the sound of this card is like a "spit in the ears", "toilet" mono sound seasoned with a lot of terrible presets and pseudo-virtualization.
