As much as I love my original plasma igniter, this one is much better. my fingers with a match. In addition, the detonator will not be blown away by the wind. While it's easy to light a regular wood-burning fireplace with a plasma lighter, the flexible lighter now allows me to get to the pilot of a gas fireplace without having to get my hands dirty or hoping the match doesn't go out before the pilot ignites. Plasma lighter once in the last 2 months and use it several times a week and still have almost a full charge. Recommend this product for campers, wind does not blow out flames, and for those with gas appliances who need manual ignition. Also suitable for candles.
