Review on πŸ”§ ROKR Kit: Mechanical Engineering Educational Toys for Fun-Filled Birthdays by Brad Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

You have to use a bit of glue and it's frustrating in places, but overall it's a fun project once it's completed.

This was my third Rokr puzzle. The first was a film projector and it was quite a mess. Even after some pieces were glued together, it still fell apart when you tried to add another piece. The second was the marble run. Some parts didn't stay in place and the insert hammer simply broke off the pair. But after gluing some parts it turned out to be a good project. Now it's an airship. I haven't gone a quarter of the way and it's a mess. First, most parts are not marked on the product itself. So after taking it off the wood panel you don't know what the part number is. Second, the instructions don't tell you how many pieces of each piece you need (unlike previous puzzles) for each step. It's easy to miss a bite. And finally, even though all the pieces are made from the thickest wood, the pieces don't exactly fit together. Many parts will slip when trying to insert the next part. You'll need to glue some of the pieces in place or they won't stay in place. But overall it gets better as you keep up the good work and overall it's a really fun project. One more note. The startup key didn't work. However, if you used paddlewheels to wrap, this will work. And the finished product looks beautiful on the shelf.
