The Tec 305-12 trigger broke on the third use. Inside this gun is a plastic element (let's call it a link) that connects the trigger to the glue stick moving mechanism on the back of the gun. This link is made of 3mm thick plastic with a hole near its edges. If you pull the trigger when the glue stick hasn't completely melted (the first five minutes after turning on the gun), that plastic link will slow down. Apparently this is a general problem. This is mentioned in the Tec 305-12 service video posted on YouTube by either the manufacturer or dealer. This is labeled "user error" and a "buy the next weapon in stock" solution is suggested. Trying to squeeze out some glue to see if the gun is ready is not uncommon and in my opinion the following solutions will serve me better: 1) Increase the trigger strength (there is enough room to make it thicker to make) 2) Provision of the trigger link as a spare part (number NDN080 stamped). In the meantime, I 3D printed an ABS trigger link and uploaded the design to Thingiverse. It worked, but I've only tried it once so far, so it's too early to jump to conclusions.
