On days when I need more hold than beard oil but without the drag or harshness of a wax balm, I take this. It spreads like an oil, stays on like a light balm, but doesn't feel harsh or sticky like a traditional beard balm. The aroma is amazing but more like a faint but pungent cigar smell overlaid by a strong vanilla base. It's definitely not the sweet or spicy tobacco smell you would expect after trying flavors like 63 or 18.21. He has his own character. The only problem with the smell is that the "cigar" part wears off very quickly and in a few hours or less your beard will start smelling mostly like vanilla. You'll need to spend a little more time making sure you turn all the sand on your hands into oil before applying it to your face. If you don't do this, you will end up with white lumps in your beard. Other reviewers have mentioned separating the product, but my experience is that it tends to hold together rather than separate. It needs a bit more care, but I didn't really find the texture a practical issue for me. I highly recommend it as a beard oil. As for flavor, especially if you like tobacco scent profiles, you can probably do better than this vanilla-flavored formula. I would definitely recommend this product for everyday use, above average conditioner and wax free sculpting.
