Lots of features but no delivery

I really wanted this head unit to please. However, there was too much effort and not enough performance to justify it beyond the initial testing period. The hallmarks of this device are the HUGE screen and the Android operating system. Well, not all rainbows and unicorns. The screen is big, sharp and responsive - they did a great job with that part of the stereo. However, the Android OS on this system is slow and difficult to use (and I'm an Android geek). Maybe running out of memory is as simple as that, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were other factors slowing down performance. It takes an excruciatingly long time to load - who wants to drive a few minutes before being able to select music? I hope you already know how to get there because opening the navigation still takes a few minutes. When the box arrived it was marked Junsun "M81JD". I tried searching for a little more information but didn't find much. However, there are several other head units here at Revain that look almost identical (and I suspect they are VERY similar) like the Hikity version with over 1000 reviews. The installation of this device was pretty awful. I don't know exactly how to set it on normal double din opening. Luckily, the wiring harness was labeled and colored correctly, so that was a good thing. However, I removed a two din stereo from my truck and this should just slide in, right? Not really. As you can see from the photos, the device itself is very small and therefore cannot easily be clipped onto existing mounting hardware. The included brackets mount to the side of the unit to mimic a full sized head unit, but with the standard double sized hole there is no way to mount the radio inside as the screen will not fit through a standard double din . fascial opening. So the brackets have to be mounted inside, the fairing/skin in place, then you have to screw the head unit to the brackets from the outside, which for me was almost impossible. I already had a reversing camera. installed, so connected fairly easily. Fortunately there are no problems. GPS antenna, wiring harnesses and USB cable connected with no problems. However, it struck me as odd that they included a microphone with a 3.5mm jack in the kit - there's literally no way to connect it to the main unit. There's a microphone built into the front display, so it still works, but it's still weird to put in what's useless hardware. I also find it odd that the box advertises CDs, an SD card reader and iPod connectivity. There's no optical drive, no SD card slot, and if there's a way to connect an iPod via USB, I couldn't believe it. Also, there is no 3.5mm aux input jack. I have a SiriusXM radio that I would connect to this unit, but using an FM modulator box would be the only real way to connect it. Another option would be to install the SiriusXM app on the head unit, but then you're dependent on an internet connection (which defeats the purpose of getting satellite radio in the first place). I installed a couple of car radios. , rear cameras, etc., so I'm not new to this business. As I said, I really wanted to like this device, but in the end, even with minimal acceptance, it just couldn't work.
