Review on Iced Perfection: Unveiling the Prodyne IC 10 PRODYNE ICED Platter by Larry Sabey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Essential for serving utensils

This is the second bowl of this type that I've bought and I really like it. We also have a Prodyne dip-on-ice serving bowl in stainless steel, as well as lidded ice cream snacks. Of these, cymbals are the most commonly used. They are especially good when we have raclette or fondue, both meals require reheating of food (cheese, meat) at the table, resulting in a "roasting temperature" at the table. Plates keep those foods safer for longer - sliced raclette cheese stays firm enough to peel off easily and doesn't melt on the plate yet. And with fondue, the meat stays fresh for longer. The bowl holds enough ice and the stainless steel is aesthetically pleasing and food safe. Then it just goes in the dishwasher. The only thing I wish they were bigger, or at least Prodyne would make a bigger version. We tried the large Prodyne Appetizers-On-Ice, but the compartments aren't big enough for our purposes, they're made of plastic, and the triangular shape of the compartments doesn't lend itself to slicing cheese - the plate's large flat stainless steel surface allows for that too many more types of food than others. I would buy a larger version of this product in a heartbeat.

Pros
  • Fill the bottom bowl with ice and place the bowl on top
Cons
  • Slightly torn
