So first off I really have to side with Jodes and all her crib issues. When I bought mine I bought 3 separate rails because I didn't have the $200 to order the full set. I ordered 3 of 80 inches for my king bed thinking it was what I needed but when the 3rd arrived I found it was too big for the foot end of my bed. I returned it and ordered 76" but received 70 so had to return it before I finally got the 76" I needed. So now I have 80" rails on the sides and 76" on the foot. Be sure to measure before you buy! When it finally arrived it was a completely different layout design than the 2 side rails. Having two different layouts doesn't really work well together, but my husband managed to make this work. On the attached photos you can see what we did. First, the bottom rail stabilizing bases must sit on top of the side rail bases. Unfortunately, this means the top isn't flush. Then to REALLY stabilize all 3 bed rails we had to bolt them to the bed frame in several places. It didn't really make us happy but we want our son to be safe so this was the way to do it. Because the tops aren't flush, we weren't able to attach the end caps at the top. Honestly it didn't matter that it was flush because as they are 2 different designs the cap didn't fit either rail. So my husband had to twist the table tops because of the unsafe gap between the bed rails. Then, after almost 2 months of using the footrest, the plastic broke when I applied slight pressure to the bar. It was disheartening because I barely slept that night to make sure my baby didn't fall, only to have her fall the next morning, land on her face and bite her tongue. I tried contacting the manufacturing company but couldn't find a website or contact information for them so I had to buy another bed rail to replace the broken part so I didn't have to take the whole system apart. because we put a lot of effort into making it work. Bed rails are a great idea in theory if you can make them work for you, especially since this set folds straight down rather than unfolding and then lowering to take up space I don't have. It really is a 50/50% chance of success.
