The propane gas detector in our camper beeped at irregular times (even at night). We read the instructions in the RV owner's manual and found that it had a 5 year lifespan, which it achieved. The detector we bought was the same model as the detector installed. I was able to remove the two screws holding the old detector in place. The old detector had a car plug that connected it to the RV's power supply. I cut off the connector and crimped it to the new detector. The wire colors of the old detector matched the wire colors of the new detector. I checked the polarity of the power supply with a voltmeter to be sure. After plugging it in and reinstalling the detector in the RV, I pressed the test button and it worked. Eastern 15 minute job to make sure the RV is safe.
