I have flat feet, narrow feet and a tendency to plantar fasciitis. I have been buying NB 990 tennis shoes for at least 20 years because they are the only shoes that fit me. They're not cheap, but I'm happy to pay for the convenience. The shoes are quite well made and hold up better than most tennis shoes I've tried. The only complaint I have about them (and it's a HUGE one) is that they smell pretty bad after washing. Something with the glue they use or something, but it keeps getting worse until it almost ruins the shoes. Every couple I've had had the same problem and I've probably had more than 9-10 couples that had the same problem. None of my other shoes smell bad so it must be New Balance. I've read several other reviews reporting the same issue. Anyway, I'll keep buying them. When they get too rough to keep indoors I leave them in the garage and use them to mow the grass.
