I just moved in and was looking for a small wine cabinet; However, I had a few requirements I was hoping to fulfill (in order of importance). The cabinet I was looking for had to: - be no wider than 22.5 inches (that's the width of the wall I was planning to place the cabinet against) - have a wine storage section, a hanging wine glass holder section and a drawer at the TOP. for various items (corkscrews, wine corks, etc.) - should be about waist-high (mine is somewhere between 35-40 inches) for easy use of the top of the cabinet (e.g. pouring wine, serving crackers, etc.) d.). )-Not black and not light wood (I personally dislike neither; of course your preferences may vary. :) )-Price under $100 if at all possible. I bought it! When I took the parts out of the box I thought "wood" sounded pretty plasticky and askew when you tapped it, but the wood actually looks nice and the body finish looks pretty good for the price I'd say artfully made goods well packaged and i was pleased that each piece was wrapped in a thin erial foam mat.follow the instructions and be careful. Find all the parts and compare the contents of the box to the parts list. The pieces aren't labeled, but luckily they look different enough to tell which piece is which. Pay special attention to parts B and C (middle and bottom shelf) as the only easily noticeable difference is how the back "edge" faces (top or bottom). My B part was slightly damaged (small tear in 2 places) but the damage was backwards and not visible after assembly so I managed with the superglue I had. Otherwise I would have contacted the manufacturer about the missing/damaged part, although I'm glad I didn't have to as I read in one review that the manufacturer could just ask you to box everything up and send it back and get a refund. I wouldn't want to do that as the box was quite heavy. Anyway, back to assembly - it was easy once you understand that the screws marked K are hex head screws and the L screws are small Phillips head screws (screws are listed in the parts list). Assembly was a bit of a chore as after assembling most of the cabinet and locking the side of the cabinet against the rest of the assembled cabinet you need to line up at least 6 PLUS pins. Grooves holding the back of the case. So prepare to be patient with this part. Once everything is aligned, you may need to tap on the wall unit to actually connect the pins and pin holes in the part you want to attach. When that's done, prepare to tighten the 6 hex head screws. Just be patient and take your time and everything will be fine. :) When inserting the cabinet backs into the slots, be sure to look at both sides of the back panels as one side is a wood grain finish and the other is smooth. Both look good, just wanted to let others know. Another important point is to make an informed decision if you plan to use the X section to store wine bottles, as once the cabinet is assembled the X divider will no longer fit in the wine storage room. I didn't want to use the X section as I was planning to place some minimalist wire bottle storage boxes in the wine storage room to make the wine bottles look like they were "floating" in the air in the wine storage room. Your choice can of course vary. The instructions tell you to place the X profile inside the cabinet before placing the final side panel on top of the rest of the cabinet - if you plan to use the X profile be sure to follow the instructions! Another note - the box is plain and has no drawer slides; However, if you want to prevent the drawer from accidentally falling out, be sure to use the drawer lock on the inside front of the cabinet. It's just a piece of wood that you can fold over to create a stopper that will hold the drawer in place so it doesn't fall out of the closet. Conclusion: This cabinet is exactly what I was looking for. The only things that could improve it is a different wood grain (let's say dark cherry which is my favorite) and a glass door to the wine cellar. Of course, a low price wouldn't hurt either, but let's be honest, the cabinet is great for the price. As long as you have realistic expectations and don't expect an item to look like a family heirloom (which this cabinet certainly doesn't), you will most likely find this cabinet to be very beautiful, practical and highly functional. I am very happy with my purchase - thank you!
