I bought this caliper 3 years ago. I thought I got the best. Not so. The 6" faceplate is thin plastic and is glued to the metal part. After a year the adhesive came loose and jammed the inside of the turn signal. I disassembled the indicator and cut 1" of plastic to allow the foil to work. Later came the adhesive into the foil and the foil didn't move. I disassembled the caliper again and removed all the glue with the MEK. Now it works fine. When checking with standards, the accuracy was plus or minus 0.001. With a 1" standard the accuracy was 0.025 This caliper doesn't match the Starrett name To be on the safe side I recommend staying away from any Starrett digital caliper.
