Review on Sony INZONE Gaming Monitor Dimming 27", 144Hz, HDR, SDMU27M90, HD by Johnny Black

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This monitor seems half baked. Has connection problems with DP and visible bands

This monitor is my first introduction to the world of 4K monitors and it was an interesting experience to say the least. My use case, unlike many of the reviews I've seen, is a blank computer monitor. I'm a gamer although my gaming pc is a bit older and i play 4k although it may not work on the ultra seats on my pc. This review looks at this monitor from the perspective of an average budget gamer as well as someone who uses their monitor for word processing and other work-related tasks. ADVANTAGES: • This monitor has a great picture. I've tried it on various games including Cyberpunk 2077, Mafia: Definitive Edition, Kingdom Come Deliverance, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey and the games looked amazing. Excellent contrast, very clean and sharp images. Honestly, games look great on this monitor. • Multiple input connections with two HDMI ports, DisplayPort and USB-C. • There are three 5V USB ports for use as a USB hub and an additional jack for connecting headphones or external speakers. The monitor is configured to be used as a KVM switcher with settings in the monitor menu to switch between sources. Cool little feature. • 1ms response time is great. I noticed how responsive he is. Delays are a thing of the past. • This monitor's menu system is well thought out and offers a variety of controls, from colour, brightness and general settings to player support settings and even monitor backlight color control (there is a light bar on the back). NEUTRAL: • The package does not include any cables other than the power cord. I don't mind as I would be using my own cables anyway. I think including a USB-C cable for firmware updates would be helpful. • This is a height adjustable monitor. It would be nice to see it go an inch or two up for the taller users among us. • It would be nice if the USB-C port was a high-current port for charging laptops. Good that there are so many USB ports. CONS: • The speakers on this thing are terrible. I mean very bad. They sound tinny and very quiet. I have no idea why they even recorded them given how bad they sound. Sony knows how
