Not as functional as I would like but better than what I had.
Call me stupid or maybe just plain naive but I was hoping I would stay warm with these skewers but the wood was as hot as the metal. I bought these to replace all-metal skewers that were more like a giant "needle" than these that are more like blades. I think food slides off them more easily than I'm used to. But the firewood begins to boil, sometimes even smoke. I've used them probably 5 or 6 times and the wood is no longer light brown but darker, mostly "burned". I bought them at a discount so no complaints. Just not as functional and easy to use as I had hoped.
