Review on CIPA 03001 Gray Wireless RV Leveler, Compact Size - 6.2 x 9.4 x 2.4 inches by Paul Ajayi

Great idea but didn't work

This unit (model 03001) is said to be an upgrade of the original 03000 model. In a blog post on CIPA USA's website, they claim they spotted this customer's complaints that it wasn't working were entirely valid. They insisted on completely redesigning the device and fixing the issues with showing the wrong level. This convinced me to try the new version, but immediately found that it was off level by more than 3/4 inch per 1 foot. I checked the device in my trailer which I leveled with an accurate bubble level and it indicated I needed to raise one corner almost a foot above all the others. I tested the device on two different flat surfaces with two different levels of accuracy, and I was able to get all four green lights to light up by just lifting one corner by about 1/2 inch. Transmitter and receiver worked well; The only problem is that one corner sticks out. Great idea, just didn't work. Either serious problems with the product itself or quality control issues. I definitely wouldn't buy any more. PS I found a competitor block (EZ level from Camco on Revain; I didn't send that to the receiver though), put BAM in the same aligned tag. all four are green.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Not trendy
