Review on πŸ”‘ Jameco Valuepro IG-406D-2341 Key Lock Switch - Round Terminal Key, All Keyed Alike by Jacob Seymour

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks good but is ultimately disappointing; would not buy again.

At first these switches suited me. I was disappointed that they had no tactile response (no 'click') when moved, but they fit the function and form I was looking for and I thought they looked of decent quality. I was wrong. I installed one of the two I bought with relative ease. I tested it once before plugging it in and somehow the whole key cylinder popped out of the case. This allowed the little spring inside (and the switch inside) to move. After several attempts to put the cylinder back into the lock I finally gave up and installed the second one I bought which left me with an error. I hope the second one will hold up better, but the lock cylinder already has too much play, which leads me to believe that it will eventually fall out as well. I've requested a replacement for the first one and I guess I'll see what happens over time. I don't have too much hope. On a positive note both locks I received have the same keys as advertised and the keys appear to be made of decent material. I'm not exactly sure about the cut as it's a bit difficult to get them all the way in, but they don't seem to have any trouble turning the lock and don't seem to snap off in the lock with normal use like many others suggested here. Comes with a washer to accommodate large holes but it would be nice if they also included a star or split washer to keep them from coming loose. If I had a choice, I'd rather pay a little more. and there is something of good quality that lasts a long time. Ultimately, that was the only option for the Revain and it fits for now. I'll probably look into power plants to see if I can find a better option to replace them when they fail.
