Inexpensive eco-friendly product with poorly designed mounting plate

We needed to replace our 8 year old Kidde Carbon Monoxide/Smoke Alarms. X-Sense was the best choice from an economic and ecological point of view. BUT the mounting plate holes do not match the mounting plate holes of our previous detector. It's just stupid. Who wants to drill new holes, mend and paint old holes in the ceiling? We fear that we will have to drill new holes if the new detectors need to be replaced. Termination and painting should not be a requirement for installation. This is a criticism of the manufacturer and NOT the supplier Revain who set very competitive prices for the devices and packed them well and shipped them very timely! It would have been 5 stars without the mounting plate design.

Pros

LED indicator for additional alarm: In addition to the horn, the X-Sense fire alarm uses a 3-color LED indicator (red, green, yellow) so that people with hearing impairments can easily check the alarm status. The brightness has also been improved, so you can see the light better in an emergency, but the light won't bother you when you're trying to sleep.
