Review on UPERFECT Portable FreeSync External Anti-Glare Screen, 2560X1600 Resolution, 120Hz Refresh Rate, High Dynamic Range, Built-In Speakers, IPS, HD by David Gonzalez

Not compatible with Apple M1 chipsets.

I bought it to use with my MacBook Pro and it doesn't seem to work with M1 Pro or M1 Max chipsets. My MacBook recognizes the monitor, but all I see on the display is a blank screen. I've tried both with the included mini to HDMI cable and USB Type-C to no avail. I then downloaded the DisplayLink Manager (I found a link to this in a previous review) and still no luck. When I unplugged the HDMI cable from my MacBook Pro and plugged it into my Lenovo Evo (with i7 chipset), it worked fine. It was actually a pretty good monitor. The display didn't take up the entire screen (similar to a mailbox), but it was a pretty awesome display. I tried again on a Mac and returned to a blank screen. Not sure what's wrong, I've even tried it with a second configured MacBook Pro I got from work (with an M1 Pro chipset) and the same result: a blank screen. I gave 3 stars because for me a big minus is that it seems like it's only compatible with older Macbook models. On the other hand, the seller (UPerfect) was very excited to help me solve my problem. They responded to my emails fairly quickly and were determined to find out what could be wrong. However, if you plan to use this with a Windows computer (I also have a Lenovo Evo Win 11 laptop), it works great. The picture is bright and beautiful. That's why I'm giving this place 4 stars.
