It definitely works. I put them in our Betta Sorority tank and they help feed us there. In the picture it looks like a float that he has attached to a suction cup with string; it is not. It's definitely some kind of plastic stick - hard - so it's pushing the "ring" (which is square, w/e) away from the tank wall. Then the "ring" itself is large enough to fit an adult Splenden rooster (2-3 inches with male fins). Overall we're talking about quite a bit of real estate considering most men live in a 5 gallon high end. I was trying to put this in my Marinelife 5g Portrait and its weird sliding glass lid ran out of most of the food. on the plastic edges of the "ring". (If I switch to a full immersion boiler I'm sure I can get a wider/deeper hole in the lid and that might solve the problem.) On the 5g Fluval spec the hole in the lid seems perfectly cut to do this be; However, this thing was so huge that I had to rearrange my betta leaves to use it. The spec light bar is the only logical place to put it on the opposite end of the filter components. My sorority is currently a standard 20g height and this is where I used these "rings" for serving. They're very useful because my alpha sort of takes over one, so everyone else can eat in peace. I only wish they had clear suction cups so I felt comfortable adding another one to the front of the tank. I've got 2 right now and they desperately need another one. I would recommend them more for traditional or large tanks just for the space and I would definitely recommend them to anyone involved in sororities. They're probably also ideal for community tanks with a variety of fish eating a variety of foods. Bettas are very smart and after I fed them these "rings" for the first time, they would check the "rings" for more food every time they saw me. :) So they form that association almost immediately, at least my Pisces. The reason I don't .woo 5stars!. it's a bc of 1) an ugly black teat - literally every other teat in all my tanks has a clear teat. (The black suction holes are on the heater holder clips and on the bottom of the filter motors. The business parts are on the back.) I would appreciate a better clear suction cup. I don't appreciate a black cup unless they would put it on the back of built in filter tanks. 2) glue. It is strange. It takes up space. It's not a piece of rope. so many reasons.
