These kite reels are high quality and work very well! Many Thanks. My father was a Lockheed rocket designer, so when I was a kid our garage was filled with all sorts of tools and projects. So he designed and we built HUGE kites out of white construction paper and 1/4 inch wood dowels and they had to be 5 feet tall since they were a bit taller than us. We colored them with big orange dragons and lightning bolts. etc. Then my dad made these "fishing reels" out of sheet aluminum and aluminum dowels with 2 inch tubular spindles with large handles soldered together and loaded them with 50-100 pounds of test line. We let these kites fly until they seemed to be almost in the clouds and out of sight over the fields near our house! When mom called us for dinner it took them about 30 minutes to finish as they were so far away. I guess I should make some kites with my grandkids now, right? And I can certainly use these kite reels for this project as they are durable and well designed! My father would be impressed. Thank you for reading my walk down memory lane. Robins in Seattle :)
