Don't listen to the description, only use on mud and ice
I bought these because the description said they were suitable for roofing. They are NOT suitable for canopies. They're not terrible on bare wood, but they will ruin the shingles and not give you traction. If you need something to help out on the ice, this is probably fine. Stick to that, don't use anything but ice and mud.
