Out of the box the disc impresses with its shape but right after installation there were a few things that were alarming. In minimal instructions, they talk a lot about using their security software. In OS X 10.15.1, the program cannot be uninstalled. It can be mounted without any software and is fast enough when copying media files. It feels VERY hot. I use it in the studio to transfer music files and it does the job, but it's tiny and I wouldn't try to put it on a keychain, especially since the connection isn't closed. I would never leave it in a USB port like I have with other flash drives. That makes it less than ideal for my use, but not enough to rule it out. It's just a nuisance getting the thing in and out. From a functional point of view, the heat bothers me. The drive is hot enough to worry about its durability, which can cause serious problems later. And it's a little confusing when the software sounds like a deal breaker when it's not installed. It's not like this. For my use it's 3.5 with a trend towards 4.0 as it works. This leaves room for stability issues. Heat is a major problem in every other electronic device I know of, with the exception of some power amps from the 1990's. But it does the job, just not in the way I'd prefer.
