One of my wife's projector headlights started turning purple on light output and stopped working after a few days. Now I know what it looks like when the light is about to go out. I bought this set of 2 for less than 1 standard replacement. The kit includes 2 gloves so you don't damage the bulb with your bare hands as you don't want to leave sebum on the bulbs. Because they get very hot, the lamp may burn out, which will affect its lifespan and output power. Changing a lightbulb is no big deal. You unlock the bulb, pull it back and out being careful not to break the glass, disconnect the electrical connection, and reverse the process to replace. Be careful not to bend the metal tabs on the headlight housing. I swapped both at the same time. They lit up immediately, seem to be the same brightness and good color. So far I haven't had any problems with it. I hope they last a few years (the ones I've replaced are about 5 years with 67,000 miles).
