4 stars out of 5 just because there is no 4K. I know it says 4K UHD right on the box, but the Dex only outputs 1080P out the single HDMI port at 60 fps. I've seen some websites saying it will record 4K at 30fps and others claiming it will record 4K at 60fps, but apparently none of those websites actually tested the device on me. I tested this with two different TVs and a monitor - a 49" LG 4K TV, a 40" Samsung 4K TV, and a 29" Samsung 4K computer monitor. None of them worked in 4K30 or 4K60. There's no option to change the resolution in the UI (e.g. can't downgrade to 720p). You CAN output HDMI audio to a connected display if the display has built-in speakers, which is nice. I've been using this device as a desktop replacement at work all day today and it's been great. Aside from the lack of resolution, which is a shame, the device was very stable and I can access my VDI desktop with both Vmware View and TeamViewer, and I can access my Windows PC at home in case I need a full one as a last resort Desktop / need a full feature, but most of my day-to-day work tasks work with it. Webex works great. Cisco Jabber works. My VPN client works seamlessly with OneDrive. I really hope that when 4K is built into the hardware it will be enabled through the software. e update. So far, the lack of advertised 4K resolution is my only complaint.
