Works like a desktop computer, that's all. This will make your phone an 'acceptable' desktop environment. I heard about this accessory before the phone came out and that's what attracted me to the Samsung S8 phone. I can watch my DirectV app on my HDMI TV from my phone wherever I go with unlimited AT&T data or WiFi coverage. Netflix needs to be changed to watch full screen. 4 stars out of 5 just because there is no 4K. I know it says 4K UHD right on the box, but the Dex only outputs 1080P out the single HDMI port at 60 fps. I've seen some websites saying it will record 4K at 30fps and others claiming it will record 4K at 60fps, but apparently none of those websites actually tested the device on me. I bought this DeX station instead of the DeX Pad as the station has an Ethernet connection connection. The phone's Ethernet option (under Connections) lights up when the station's Ethernet port is connected, so you can use that instead of Wi-Fi or a cellular system if you prefer.
