A good shop rag for wiping hands of grease and oil, undercarriage dirt and the like. They were never intended to be used for details or to absorb water, as their thickness does not allow water or water-based products to be absorbed and retained. Tip your beer or soft drink, don't expect them to soak it up unless you use a dozen of them. Have a roll of paper towels ready for this. When you use these rags to wipe grease and oil off your hands and parts, do you really think you can save them and toss them in the washing machine? Good luck with it. Take her to the laundry. In the past, most stores and gas stations got their rags from laundry and uniform companies, and these companies would rinse these rags in solvent to remove the oil-based products from the rags before machine washing them, and they always leached the paint a little off, even after repeated cleanings. More and more rags leached their color. Not so much old faded rags. These rags look pretty fresh (new) to me. Some may have ugly seam repairs. Since the rags are usually recycled over and over again because they were torn or a hole punched in them, the rag seller or maintenance person would simply sew them up to close the hole, or even sew on a patch. In any case, it was ugly, but did not prevent further use of the rag. I never counted my bulk purchases of rags, but of course if I did and something got short circuited I can return the entire batch to Amazon. It would be best (if I have the info) to contact the original seller and see if they send me what they shorted me to. I bet most sellers will add a few extras. When the price is so cheap for 100 packs, I don't break a sweat over 5-10 rags. After 10 someone is dishonest if I miss every order. Now I feel like I need to count my paper towels and toilet paper rolls!
