They are very handy and very easy to use. One complaint I have with these tools is that the batteries that come with it are of poor quality and another that the pen tester is difficult to open to insert the batteries. I've used name brand batteries because there's nothing worse than taking out a tool only to ruin it when cheap batteries inside explode or leak. Also, both are really good at telling you what's going on with the outlet and if it's safe to work with. One piece of advice I would give is that when testing a GFCI test button, make sure you know where all your GFCIS connect to each other. I checked the gfci in my master bathroom and it turned off the device in my guest bathroom across the house and I couldn't figure out why I had no power in my master bathroom.
