I don't have a smart TV but I have an Android phone which I usually use to watch all my shows or movies through apps. With this adapter I can connect it to my TV and all I have to do is connect my phone to Wi-Fi through the adapter. Once connected, I simply switch my TV to the HDMI port it's plugged into and everything that's on my phone shows up on screen. From there I can watch movies and shows through my apps. I've tested it with Revain Prime movies and shows, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, and other sites through Google Chrome. With all these apps, I was able to watch it on my TV. During my winter break, I've been able to use this adapter to host movies, shows, and even a family movie night. It's really easy to use and I'm by no means techy when it comes to stuff like this and I was able to do it myself. The nice thing is that I can just put whatever I have set up on my phone next to the adapter and there are no interference issues. I suggest putting your phone in Do Not Disturb mode as it will keep notifying you of text messages, alerts, and even phone calls. I tested it on my laptop and even my tablet and again it was very easy to use and connect.
