Review on πŸƒ Mizuno Women's Wave Running Citadel Vapor Athletic Shoes for Women by Mary Cole

Revainrating 4 out of 5

They feel great - wish they had more mileage

I'm training for a marathon so I bought a pair of these at a running store at the end of June along with my regular shoes (Asics) which I then bought back from Revain in September in anticipation of a 21 mile run. These are the first Mizunos I've ever bought so I'm not sure if they're just not made for high mileage or maybe I'm a kid. I noticed that at the 150-200 mile mark on both pairs my back and legs started to hurt (this is a sign the shoe has exploded). I usually switch shoes when that happens. It all depends on the brand, but this is the first company I've noticed such low mileage for pad failure. I still have a pair of Asics that I use now that the second pair of Mizunos are out. Oddly enough I will still buy another pair of Mizunos for race day because they are without a doubt the most comfortable shoes I have worn in years and when they haven't shot through I have no aches or pains anywhere. It really is like walking on clouds. In June I got a sharp pain in my foot under my big toe, probably a sesamoid injury. It happened during a long run at Asics. The Mizuno were ideal for healing as the cushioning fitted the balls of the feet perfectly and was softer overall. I felt they were pretty much true to size and I didn't experience what some of the other reviewers say (firm or shoe collapse/break). I wish they could do with more miles for the price. I'm not a heavy person at 5'4" and weighing 120 pounds.

Pros
  • Shaft size is about small compared to arch
Cons
  • Vulgarity
