Review on πŸ”‘ KRSCT Keyless Entry Remote Car Key for Ford 2011-2016 F150 F250 F350/Lincoln/Mercury/Mazda by Mark Gancio

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as advertised.

I wasn't sure about the programming and needed to cut the key anyway so I just went to a locksmith who had a Yelp rating of 5, which was close. The first thing I learned was that such a key consists of two components: a transponder and a remote control. (I know it's in the programming guide, but it just didn't work for me.) The transponder is an anti-theft device. I never thought of someone just cutting a random key out of my key and then trying to start my truck. . But as the locksmith explained to me, that doesn't work if the key doesn't have a transponder syncronized with the car. (Makes a lot of sense!) I read the instructions and saw the importance of having two working keys, so I brought my wife's key and she was able to sync the transponders with no problem. But he couldn't get the remote to work, saying it sometimes happens with "cheaper" keys you can buy online. I got home and re-read the instructions (now that I knew there was a kit for the transponder and one for the) and followed them to the letter and of course the remote works now too. (The nice thing was that the locksmith didn't charge me anything.) So yes, the key worked exactly as advertised and I have a fully working key.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Hard to tell
