Kate Spade never disappoints in quality or looks. This set is china white with a zig zag loop and black edging around the edges. It includes a dinner plate, appetizer plate, bowl and mug. Everything is dishwasher and microwave safe. The white and black design is classic and very versatile. You can use this set for a casual lunch or dress it up for a more formal dinner. The black and white color combination is easy to combine with any other color or design if you are serving a more informal and casual table. This set comes in a bright red box with each piece separated by multiple layers of packaging so all pieces are unscratched and in perfect condition. However, our green box was ruined in the Revain box because it was delivered on a rainy day and left on the porch so both boxes were wet. If you're thinking of gifting this, keep that in mind. In this regard, I would like to add that the set is quite expensive. Unless you're giving it as a wedding gift or other special occasion, not many people will be able to afford such an expensive set as a bargain. I consider that to be a major shortcoming.
