My order arrived well packaged so the lids weren't cracked or chipped. It feels solid and fits in the vanity license plate frame. I bought it because other reviewers said it wasn't too dark. I bought a darker one before and had to change it to avoid being stopped. This has a slightly smoky surface color and is much lighter than other "smoked" finishes. As long as my record is still visible, I can use it. There are 2 for the price so it's a good deal as long as it's under $10. I am happy with my purchase. I posted a photo to compare the smoky shade to my other finish. This Zento cover is on the left. I hope this helps show the hue of the shades. EDIT CONTINUOUS: After about 6 months a young cop stopped me and said they were too dark.
