I ordered this for my daughter as we live in warm Southern California and 'go to the snow' and she needs appropriate clothing. We were buying clothes from REI and I was hoping to get a better price and noticed this - a certain color was discounted even more because it probably wasn't as popular. In any case, the jacket turned out to be a lot thinner than I expected after reading the reviews about its warmth. I ran it under running water to make sure it was waterproof for snow and water seeped in through the exposed/reinforced zip and elsewhere almost immediately. I pulled out a more expensive REI jacket to make sure it was waterproof and I remembered correctly when I did my first water test and in fact not a single drop got in. It's great to save money, but not if the product doesn't actually do what it says on the tin. This might not be a problem for those who live in the snow and can easily and quickly pack (and dry at home) at home, but it is for us who need something to keep warm, toast and keep dry as we don't have everything we need . . . these other objects and not right in front of your own front door, that definitely doesn't help. As much as I wanted to love and cherish him, he returned to Revane in return. Thank goodness free returns!
