Does the job, I have an Apple computer and can easily output data to an external monitor. Note that the internal fan in your PC may be running at higher speeds and sometimes it gets louder, but I think that's ok, although sometimes it seems like I have to unplug the adapter for it to work, but I think it's a small price to pay to have a product that works 95% of the time. The adapter works so I'm happy with the purchase and I forgot to mention it also charges my Mac Book Pro.
