I've had them for about a week now and am very impressed with them. Noise reduction is a "subtractive" type that removes some of the ambient noise from the music, leaving the remaining signal plus the ambient noise added to the original when that makes sense. Bottom line, they don't compensate for anything when the headphones aren't playing music. But when something is played at a reasonable volume, outside noise disappears. Not as effective as on-ear headphones, but not as uncomfortable either. In terms of comfort, I had to replace the medium-sized earbuds, but they are very comfortable now. I can wear them a full 8 hour work day with no discomfort. I've worn several different in-ear and in-ear headphones before and all caused more discomfort than these. I especially like how well they sit in the ears. Other in-ear headphones have always felt unreliable. The last aspect I will mention is the battery life. Although the battery life deteriorates over time, I am very satisfied with its behavior. SkullCandy's description says 6 hours, which I felt was the bare minimum. This can be affected by music volume, temperature, etc., but my pair hold a charge well for at least 7 hours of continuous use. I always appreciate the philosophy of "don't promise, promise more". I love these in-ear headphones and look forward to (hopefully) using them on a daily basis for a long time to come.
