High quality headset with two earbuds and a standard noise canceling microphone. An additional boom for the microphone was included in the scope of delivery. No adapter is needed for most office phones. It looks like a volume control with a mute button, but it's not. Although it includes a mute button, the switch, which looks like a volume control, is used to accommodate phones with different speaker impedances. If your phone already has a mute button, simply plug the headset directly into the RJ9 jack without an adapter. If everything sounds normal, then no adapter is needed. If there's no sound or it's turned off, plug in the adapter and try different switch settings until you find one that sounds good.
