Bought these for my husband after telling him I love mine as a comfortable layer between my legs and fins for snorkeling and rock hiking. When you pedal or accelerate while snorkeling, the sock will help prevent blisters on your toes. He loves them as the heel hole drains water and allows him to dive down (around 50 feet) instead of keeping him afloat like closed toe fins normally do. Wearing them snorkeling on a sandy beach will collect sand through the hole in the heel, but it's easy to dump by shaking your toe in the water before putting on the fins. I recommend sizing up the fins unless you wear them with adjustable ankle straps.
