Much better than I expected the sound is clear and loud with no crackling or distortion I have 2 of these connecting 2 pairs of 20 watt Pioneer speakers to my computer and they sound excellent, beautiful and clear even at full volume. I run them with some old wall warts that output 12 volts DC at 1.5 watts and they work fine. I plan on buying a few more of these, I know I'm going to blow them up somehow, and I'm going to be really sad. I am very happy with this pair, I will be buying 2 more again very soon. To update. I got them a year later and the only problem so far has been losing one of the 4559 chips on the board that I pulled out. He installed the socket and replaced the 4559 with one of my spares and the amp still works so it's repairable to the limit, the chips are upgradeable so far so good
