Supplied in a sealed pouch. Inside is a package that has a cardboard back and a plastic front. The cardboard backing simply slides out. Inside are a pair of tongs over which a plastic bag has been slipped and a hook. The loop and bag of beads were located separately outside of the hook and tong packaging. As I unpacked the hook and tongs, I noticed that the tongs inside the back looked like there was a bunch of black dirt/oil on it. it (see photo). To be honest they look gross and it's pretty ridiculous to look like this when they're brand new? I can't figure out why they look greasy and dirty when they're brand new. When I removed the small lid of the bag, I squeezed the pliers as I opened and closed them and they felt very gritty as I opened and closed. I cleaned them as best I could, but there was black dirt stuck in all the little cracks. I just didn't feel like putting it next to my hair! I definitely didn't feel like they were new. I don't know if it was butter or something else, but if it's brand new why was it opened up for oiling? Anyway, I didn't want to use them in my hair. The velcro was good. They felt good. They didn't look dirty or used. They have worked well and held up well. The beads also worked very well. I've used a variety of pliers and was able to easily squeeze them together to hold the extensions in place and also easily pry them out which was nice. Overall, I really can't recommend this set. Around the same time I received another set of tongs that didn't look used and had 3 different holes to actually hold the beads in between. It also came with interchangeable hooks and loops and a beaded pouch. It was a bit more expensive than this one but I think it's worth the extra price as the pliers are much better, especially with the 3 bead holes and interchangeable hook and eye. With this set I would only recommend if you need beads, a loop and a hook. If you also need pliers I wouldn't recommend this as they appear to have been used and even when they weren't they were dirty and rough.
