My BlackVue DRS900-2CH 4K dash cam had trouble applying the double sided windshield tape. Winter and early spring temperatures are fairly mild in Southern California, and when the belt broke after a few hot days in the sun, I knew I needed a mechanical alternative before the summer heat hit. While the original spring clamp provided by Blendmount could have worked and was sufficient for the task at hand, I preferred to modify the BlendMount BBV-2000R mount to work with the original DRS900-2CH base. I slightly removed the spring clip attached with a hex screw to make room for the original BlackVue camera mount. I centered 2 handy holes that already exist on the BBV-2000R clamp arm, which turned out to be the correct DIA. required for 6-32 UNF. It was then easy to locate and drill 2 clearance holes in the BlackVue plastic base and secure the base with 2 6-32x Phillips pan head screws in sufficient quantity. (see last photo for screw details) As you can see, the end result is a sturdy mount that is perfectly positioned and easily adjustable. Amazing price for a quality piece!
